MAIN AIM

The main aim of the National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB) is to build strong and transparent relations among the Police, Public, and Media to collectively fight against all forms of criminal and anti-social activities. These include: Terrorism, Smuggling, Organized Crime, Fake Currency, Illegal Arms Trade, Human Trafficking, Sexual Harassment, Child Labour, Bonded Labour, and Corruption.

Our core mission is to highlight the exemplary work and achievements of both police personnel and media professionals in front of the common public. We provide a common platform for the Police, Media, and Public to come together, understand each other, and cooperate more effectively in addressing and eradicating crime and social evils from society.

You too can join hands with us and contribute towards building a safer and better nation.

WHAT WE DO

One of NCIB’s key objectives is to promote healthy and trust-based Police-Public relationships across the entire nation, not just in metro cities. In the past, there has often been a gap between citizens and the police in India. Many people are unaware of their rights and the kind of assistance they can legally seek from police departments. This lack of awareness has at times led to under-reporting of crimes or loss of faith in the justice system.

However, with ongoing reforms and modernization, significant improvements in police functioning are being seen nationwide — not only in metro cities but also in small towns, semi-urban, and even rural areas. Police departments across India are increasingly adopting digital systems, improving transparency, community outreach, and service delivery. There is a growing sense of accountability and public trust.

OUR APPROACH

At all NCIB events and awareness campaigns, we educate people about their fundamental rights, how to report crimes safely, and how to seek justice without fear of harassment or prolonged legal procedures. With the latest amendments to the Right to Information Act (RTI) and other legal tools, citizens now have better access to information about government and police departments, making administration more accountable.

Many people — especially women and vulnerable groups — hesitate to report crimes due to fear, lack of knowledge, or past negative experiences. NCIB works to break this barrier by conducting awareness drives, roadshows, and public interactions where we explain the correct legal procedures and available protections. We also collaborate with government bodies and social development organizations to bring about lasting changes in crime control and public safety mechanisms across India.

OUR VISION

NCIB envisions an India where every citizen feels secure, informed, and empowered to report crime, seek justice, and trust in law enforcement. We are committed to making crime control not just a duty of the police, but a collective mission involving media, civil society, and the general public.
